Assistant Professor – Electro‑Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Abu Dhabi Polytechnic is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its Electro‑Mechanical Engineering (EMET) program. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community activities, supporting the institution’s vision to develop skilled technologists for the UAE’s knowledge‑based economy.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, labs, workshops and field excursions for undergraduate courses.
• Develop and continuously update course materials and adopt diverse teaching models such as e‑learning, blended and flipped classrooms.
• Act as subject or course coordinator, overseeing curriculum delivery and assessment tools.
• Supervise student capstone and graduate projects, aligning them with industry challenges and potential patents.
• Conduct and publish research in areas aligned with personal expertise and UAE research priorities.
• Prepare grant proposals, participate in conferences and professional development events.
• Organise academic events, exhibitions and training sessions.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Post‑PhD degree with relevant full‑time teaching experience.
• Track record of publications in reputable journals.
• Proven expertise in mechatronics system design, PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, SCADA/DCS, CAD/CAM, process control, control systems, robotics and C++ programming.
• Commitment to EHS standards and academic excellence.
