Assistant Professor in Private Law

About the role

Abu Dhabi University’s College of Law is seeking an Assistant Professor in Private Law to join its faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in both English and Arabic and conduct research aligned with the college’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching in Private Law at bachelor and master levels, in English and Arabic.
• Develop and submit a 2‑page research proposal outlining a 2‑4‑year research agenda.
• Publish scholarly work in Scopus‑indexed journals and contribute to the college’s research networks.
• Engage students through extracurricular activities, events, and mentorship.
• Participate in curriculum development and accreditation processes.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of full‑time teaching and research experience with key publications.
• Demonstrated scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the discipline.
• Excellent teaching ability and active engagement with students inside and outside the classroom.

Required skills

• Strong communication, presentation and teaching skills.
• Computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to obtain a teaching qualification under the UK HEA Fellowship Scheme.
• Commitment to publishing in Scopus‑indexed journals and participation in research networks.
