Assistant Resident Engineer (Buildings)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Assistant Resident Engineer – Buildings to support the delivery of building construction works on a KIZAD project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising construction activities, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications, quality and safety standards, and acting as a backup for the Resident Engineer when required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising building construction projects, reviewing shop drawings, design proposals and method statements.
• Coordinate with design engineers, contractors and inspectors to manage scheduling, resource allocation and progress tracking.
• Maintain daily diaries, inspection reports and as‑built drawings, and verify completed work against project specifications.
• Lead meetings with authorities, contractors and subcontractors, and ensure safety protocols are implemented on‑site.
• Provide guidance to inspectors and surveyors, and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of engineering experience, including at least 6 years in the UAE.
• Proven supervision experience on large‑scale warehouse and industrial building projects.

Required skills

• Civil Engineering knowledge.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong command of MS Office and Outlook.
