Assistant Resident Engineer (Infrastructure-Civil)

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising the construction of roads and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves reviewing design documents, coordinating with contractors and design engineers, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met on site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and act on behalf of the Resident Engineer, supervising road and infrastructure works and related utilities.
• Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and prepare correspondence replies.
• Maintain daily diaries, daily reports and weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate scheduling and resource application with contractor engineers.
• Direct, assist and monitor inspectors and surveyors, and chair meetings with authorities and subcontractors.
• Ensure safety goals are achieved and oversee implementation of safety procedures.
• Verify as‑built drawings and manage hand‑over of utility works to service authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of site supervision and construction management experience on road and bridge projects.
• At least 2 years managing large‑scale infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Available to work in the UAE.
