Assistant Resident Engineer (M&E)

About the role

KN International is urgently seeking a highly skilled Assistant Resident Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) for its Western Region office in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the infrastructure and building services aspects of projects, ensuring quality execution, compliance with local regulations and efficient coordination with contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing mechanical and electrical infrastructure and building services projects.
• Oversee and coordinate pumping stations, fluid mechanics and related systems to meet project specifications and local regulations.
• Supervise the contractor's work, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, safety standards and quality control.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of M&E systems.
• Manage and respond to RFIs, submittals and technical queries.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants and government authorities.
• Review documentation such as material approvals, method statements and shop drawings.
• Identify risks, troubleshoot issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Attend weekly and monthly progress meetings and provide technical input.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure and building services, preferably in the UAE.
• Previous experience working with TAQA WS.
• Proven experience in construction supervision, quality control and contract administration.

• Strong technical expertise in pumping stations, fluid mechanics and M&E systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
