Assistant Technical / Quality Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Technical / Quality Engineer supports the technical team in ensuring that products or services meet established standards. The role involves inspecting, testing and documenting processes to maintain quality, compliance and operational efficiency. It reports to the Technical Director.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Engineer in daily quality inspection and control activities.
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of fasteners, materials and components.
• Perform drilling and testing of screws to verify performance and quality compliance.
• Inspect and verify material specifications and coatings according to applicable standards.
• Prepare and maintain Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and ensure traceability and documentation of inspected materials.
• Prepare reports and documentation using MS Office tools.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and AutoCAD files.
• Install, troubleshoot and repair welding machines when required, with a good understanding of electrical circuits and machine operation.
• Carry out any ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; 2-5 years of experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of materials, coatings, corrosion, mechanical inspection methods, electrical systems and circuits.
• Familiarity with fasteners and related testing procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a warehouse and production environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt and take initiative in quality improvement processes.
• Educational degrees and certificates must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometres and Elcometer.
• Ability to prepare MTCs and maintain inspection documentation.
