Assistant Technician FM Plumbing

About the role

The Assistant Technician FM Plumbing will carry out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on plumbing pipework, equipment and systems at Dubai Airports. The role involves working individually or as part of a technical team while ensuring minimal disruption to airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on potable water, waste and drainage pipework, sanitary fixtures, pressure reducing valve stations, heat exchangers, calorifiers and aircraft potable water systems.
• Safely execute safety isolations, LOTO procedures and planned maintenance on high‑temperature hot water, chilled water pump, sewage and storm‑water pump systems.
• Interpret pipework schematics and system layout drawings, set up and use test equipment such as manometers, water pressure test kits, digital multimeters and drain cleaning machines.
• Maintain assets including pumps, pressure vessels, oil interceptors, backflow preventer assemblies, faucets, fixtures, water heaters and toilet appliances.

Required profile

• Industrial Training Institute Diploma or equivalent with 2 years in Pipe Fitting or Air‑Conditioning & Refrigeration Maintenance.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Plumbing & Pump Technician in a Facility Management or similar environment.
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret local and international plumbing standards and regulations.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Proficiency with test equipment: manometer, water pressure test kits (dry & wet), digital multimeter, drain cleaning machine.
• Hands‑on experience with water heater servicing, sump pump repair, sewer and drain line cleaning, faucet and fixture repair, and pump overhauling.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, condition‑based assessments, and corrective actions on plumbing assets.
