Assistant Vice President, Compliance (Health Insurance)

About the role

Orient Insurance PJSC, part of the Al-Futtaim Group, is hiring an Assistant Vice President of Compliance in Dubai. The role supports the VP-Compliance in ensuring the company meets regulatory requirements, with primary responsibility for health insurance compliance, including the requirements of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH). It also supports the VP-Compliance in implementing and monitoring the company's overall compliance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Review products, policy terms, underwriting, enrolment, claims, pre-authorisation, reimbursement and complaints for regulatory compliance
• Oversee compliance risks for provider networks, brokers, outsourcing partners and TPAs, including due diligence, contracts, service levels, data access and audit rights
• Monitor DHA and DOH requirements and coordinate with Health Insurance, Claims, Underwriting, Operations and IT
• Maintain a register of health insurance regulatory requirements and support regulatory reporting, confirmations and inspections
• Support compliance in financial crime controls, medical fraud investigations, privacy, consent, confidentiality and health-data sharing
• Carry out risk-based compliance reviews, follow up remediation actions and assist in compliance reporting and training
• Conduct regulatory gap assessments, review policies and procedures, and help update the Compliance Framework and Compliance Plan

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, insurance, healthcare administration or a related field; professional qualification preferred
• Typically 10-12 years' relevant experience, including 5 years in a managerial or senior advisory role
• Experience with regulators, inspections, remediation and senior governance forums

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE insurance regulation and practical medical-insurance experience
• Understanding of medical underwriting, claims, provider contracting, TPAs, coding, billing, outsourcing and health-data risks
