Associate – Architecture Rail

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Associate – Architecture Rail to join AECOM’s Dubai team. The role supports the design, planning and development of rail infrastructure projects across the UAE and GCC, working closely with architects, engineers and project managers to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare technical drawings, specifications and architectural plans for rail projects using CAD and BIM software.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
• Analyze rail system requirements and constraints to propose optimal architectural solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design alignment with project objectives and timelines.
• Ensure all designs comply with UAE and GCC rail standards, regulations and safety protocols.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Support coordination of design activities across project phases, from concept through implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in rail infrastructure architecture or transportation design.
• Strong knowledge of rail design principles, standards and best practices, especially in the UAE/GCC region.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.
