Associate Director – Building Technology Systems

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for an Associate/Associate Director – Building Technology Systems to join its Building Technology Services team in Abu Dhabi. The role will support smart building solutions, ICT design, ELV and creative AV technologies across high‑profile projects in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of ICT/ELV systems including structured cabling, data networks, Wi‑Fi, security (CCTV, ACS), BMS integration, IPTV and telecommunications, producing drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Design and review creative AV solutions such as digital signage, video walls, control rooms, meeting‑room AV and immersive environments, providing technical leadership on layouts, acoustics and equipment selection.
• Develop smart‑building frameworks, integrating IoT, automation and digital platforms while ensuring compliance with international standards.
• Support project delivery through planning, client presentations, coordination with contractors and authorities, site inspections and testing/commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in building technology, ICT, ELV or AV systems design, preferably on mixed‑use projects.
• Strong knowledge of international standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, IEC, ISO and AVIXA.
• Consultancy experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
