Associate Director Project and Sustainable Finance

About the role

The Associate Director, Project & Sustainable Finance will join the Asset & Project Finance (APF) team at First Abu Dhabi Bank. Working closely with senior colleagues, you will help originate, structure and execute APF transactions for corporate and financial institution clients worldwide, with a focus on aviation and project finance opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the APF team in originating, structuring and executing asset and project finance deals across CIB and FIG segments.
• Assist the Team Head in developing and updating the Aviation Industry and Project Finance business strategies.
• Conduct market research and provide ESG updates for loan portfolios, including Equator Principle reporting.
• Prepare financial projections, cash‑flow models, sensitivity analyses and other transaction documentation such as pitch books, term sheets and information memoranda.
• Collaborate with credit teams on specialised transactions, reviewing green‑light memos, credit memos and amendment requests.
• Participate in advisory mandates and client discussions, delivering strategic advice to key FAB clients.
• Research topics for internal and external use and keep the team informed of regulatory and market developments.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the aviation sector, including airlines, lessors, manufacturers and aviation financiers.
• Experience in asset and project finance, preferably within a corporate or investment banking environment.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams, including coverage, product partners and credit analysts.
• Knowledge of ESG frameworks and the Equator Principles.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for preparing transaction documents and client presentations.
