Associate Director, Project & Sustainable Finance

About the role

The Associate Director, Project & Sustainable Finance is part of the Asset & Project Finance (APF) team, working with senior colleagues to originate and execute APF transactions for the CIB and FIG client base and contribute to revenue for Global Corporate Finance. The role builds an understanding of airlines, lessors, project developers, banks, Export Credit Agencies and other aviation and project finance participants to find financing opportunities within the bank's client and credit appetite, and works with Corporate and Financial Institutions coverage teams, product partners and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the APF team in originating, structuring and executing APF transactions globally, helping deliver a revenue target.
• Support the Team Head in developing the Aviation Industry and Project Finance business strategies, updating them as the market changes.
• Build a strong understanding of the aviation sector (airlines, lessors, manufacturers, aviation banks and other financiers).
• Support ESG initiatives for the loans business and update the team on developments in the ESG space.
• Support project financing work, including Equator Principle reporting.
• Prepare projections, analyse cash flow models and run sensitivities.
• Take part in advisory mandates for key clients and join Credit discussions on specialised transactions, such as green light memos, credit memos and waivers.
• Research topics for internal or external purposes and prepare pitch books, term sheets, information memorandums, financial models and mandate letters, and review feasibility reports, financial statements and due diligence reports.
• Review financing and security documentation for compliance with credit-approved terms and maintain pricing details for all APF transactions.
• Help the Team Head keep the team up to date on internal training programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Project Finance and Aviation Finance.
• Good knowledge of global and regional aviation and project finance sectors.
• Understanding of international aviation debt markets and syndicated loan markets.
• Knowledge of project finance structures, typical participants, assessment tools and project finance, syndicated loan and debt capital markets.
