Associate Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

About the role

An experienced Associate Engineer (Level 2, EPP) is sought for the Electrical & Power Plant division of the Facilities Maintenance department in the UAE. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance of critical power infrastructure such as UPS, DC plants, generators, LV panels, battery systems and power distribution systems. The position requires 5-8 years of experience and a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or Electromechanical Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS, DC plants, generators, LV panels, fire systems, battery systems and power distribution systems.
• Conduct annual DC plant and UPS battery load tests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults in UPS, rectifiers, PLCs, diesel generators, ATS, firefighting systems and electrical systems.
• Respond to emergencies and system failures to restore operations within required timelines.
• Inspect Power and E&M facilities to identify potential single points of failure.
• Analyse equipment failures and incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain technical documents, reports and electrical calculations, and keep technical databases, node layouts, as-built drawings, CAD SLDs and power connectivity records up to date.
• Create, manage and close work orders, lead maintenance activities, train the operations team and coordinate with vendors and contractors.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications / Electromechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in Electrical & Power Plant Maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with UPS, DC systems, generators, LV panels, rectifiers, ATS and battery systems.
• Preferred: experience in telecom exchanges, data centers or critical infrastructure facilities, and willingness to work 24/7 shifts and extended hours.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of technical documentation, CAD Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and as-built drawings.
• Ability to work under pressure and strong coordination, communication and team leadership skills.
