About the role
This Associate position supports People & Talent initiatives within Standard Chartered's Islamic Banking division in Dubai. The role focuses on fostering a transparent, collaborative culture, ensuring compliance with Shariah and regulatory frameworks, and supporting risk and governance functions.
Key responsibilities
- Build a transparent and collaborative culture aligned with the bank’s values and the ‘Here For Good’ ethos.
- Acquire knowledge and training in Shariah and Islamic banking products.
- Assist teams during client calls and facilitate training for staff engaged in Saadiq business.
- Provide assistance during internal audits, Shariah reviews, and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor Saadiq portfolio performance to detect credit‑related concerns.
- Update senior management on Islamic Banking performance and maintain awareness of the regulatory framework.
- Deliver effective governance, challenge executives when needed, and cooperate with local regulators.
- Adhere to the Shariah Governance Framework and implement requirements set by the HSA.
- Uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business.
- Training or experience related to Islamic Finance.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
