Associate Principal – Water

About the role

Khatib & Alami is seeking an Associate Principal to lead the design and delivery of major water infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The role combines technical oversight, client interaction, and business development to ensure high‑quality outcomes for potable water, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation networks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale water infrastructure and master‑planning projects from concept to completion.
• Provide technical oversight for all water and wet‑utility designs, reviewing calculations, drawings, reports and tender documents.
• Manage project resources, schedules, quality standards and client coordination.
• Coordinate with roads, dry utilities, MEP disciplines and authority stakeholders to secure approvals and NOCs.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams while supporting business development initiatives.

Required profile

• 12–15 years of experience in water/wet utilities design within a leading engineering consultancy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven leadership in managing design teams, project delivery and technical reviews.
• Experience working on projects in the Middle East is highly preferred.
