Associate Professor – Large Animal Medicine & Surgery

About the role

The Department of Veterinary Medicine seeks a senior academic leader to join as an Associate (or Full) Professor in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. The role will shape a modern veterinary clinical education ecosystem and drive the development of large‑animal clinical services, training platforms, and translational research in the UAE and GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures, practical sessions, and clinical instruction in large‑animal medicine and surgery.
• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of a veterinary clinical teaching facility at Al Foah University Farm.
• Collaborate on the creation of a clinical skills laboratory for hands‑on large‑animal procedures.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement for clinical veterinary education.
• Conduct scholarly research, secure external funding, and publish peer‑reviewed papers.
• Mentor students, supervise senior projects and internships, and provide career guidance.
• Engage with industry, farms, racing stables, camel breeders, and governmental stakeholders.
• Undertake departmental and college administrative duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Established academic career in large‑animal veterinary medicine and surgery.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical training, curriculum innovation, and research excellence.
• Experience in building or managing veterinary clinical facilities.
• Strong record of scholarly publications and external grant acquisition.
• Commitment to student mentorship and community outreach.
