Associate Vice President – Scrum Master, Everyday Banking

About the role

The Associate Vice President – Scrum Master will lead the onboarding and everyday banking squads, driving agile delivery of digital banking products. Reporting to the Digital Product Owner, you will balance scrum facilitation with proxy product ownership to ensure high‑quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate all scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives – for onboarding and everyday banking squads.
• Act as proxy product owner: manage the backlog, write and refine user stories, define acceptance criteria and accept completed work.
• Collaborate with the Digital Product Owner, deputising in ceremonies, stakeholder forums and decision‑making when required.
• Translate product strategy into a prioritized backlog ready for sprint delivery.
• Remove impediments and coordinate across business, design, technology and third‑party teams to maintain delivery momentum.
• Manage sprint scope, dependencies and risks to keep commitments realistic and predictable.
• Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions and align business needs with delivered functionality.
• Track and report squad performance, delivery metrics and product KPIs, highlighting risks and trade‑offs.
• Ensure quality through rigorous acceptance testing, UAT coordination and release readiness reviews.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience in digital delivery, product ownership or agile roles within large‑scale technology environments, preferably banking.
• Proven track record as a scrum master and proxy product owner, facilitating ceremonies and managing backlogs for digital squads.
• Strong understanding of digital onboarding journeys and everyday banking products.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with senior leaders and technology teams.
• Bachelor’s degree required; certifications such as PSM, CSPO or SAFe preferred.
