Automation Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager oversees complex power and automation projects from order confirmation to final delivery, handling high-value contracts and intricate technical configurations. The role leads projects from awarding of order through implementation, testing and delivery, ensuring on-time completion, customer satisfaction and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of Switchgear and RTU projects with high BOM complexity, developing detailed plans, timelines and resource allocations, and monitoring progress and risks
• Serve as primary contact for key customers, run regular project reviews, follow up on payments, LCs and PDCs, and manage change orders and commercial negotiations
• Coordinate FAT inspections, close out comments and obtain dispatch clearance; review and validate quotations and technical specifications
• Work with engineering, procurement, suppliers and production teams, and coordinate with the automation software team on integration and deployment
• Provide pre-sales technical guidance, product demonstrations and assist in customer training and seminars
• Collaborate with sales, order handling, logistics and finance teams, and support audits and post-project reviews

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, project management or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of project management experience, preferably in electrical distribution or industrial equipment
• Valid UAE driving licence and preferably own car; experience coordinating subcontractors
• Strong understanding of power and automation systems, electrical distribution networks and BOM structures
• PMP or equivalent certification is a plus; Arabic speaking is an advantage
