AVP, Compliance - Regulatory Affairs

About the role

The AVP – Regulatory Affairs (UAE) is responsible for managing the bank’s interactions with regulators, overseeing examinations, thematic reviews and on‑site inspections. The role ensures timely, accurate responses and drives automation to improve regulatory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end management of regulatory examinations and thematic reviews, coordinating documentation and maintaining logs.
• Coordinate and manage on‑site inspections, acting as the primary point of contact for regulators.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly, ensuring proper logging and documentation.
• Receive, track and disseminate regulatory circulars and notices, maintaining a central repository.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as liaison with regulatory authorities.
• Provide regular status updates to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and maintain comprehensive records for audits.
• Identify and implement automation, streamlining and simplification opportunities for regulatory processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in regulatory compliance within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
