AVP & Lead – Credit Management (Banking)

About the role

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Lead Credit Management role supports the preparation, assessment, structuring and ongoing management of Transport & Logistics and Industrials & Manufacturing credit exposures across the UAE and selected international markets. You will work closely with senior credit, relationship, product, risk and legal teams to deliver end‑to‑end credit analysis and ensure compliance with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed credit analysis and risk assessment for sector‑related transactions, including working capital, corporate debt and structured asset financing.
• Prepare credit applications, financial analyses and approval recommendations.
• Support structuring of term loans, revolving facilities and guarantees within approved risk parameters.
• Manage sector‑specific portfolio activities such as credit reviews, covenant monitoring and financial performance tracking.
• Collaborate with coverage and product teams on client meetings and credit assessments.
• Respond to audit, regulatory and internal review queries related to assigned transactions.
• Ensure adherence to Group Credit Policies, sector underwriting standards and delegated approval frameworks.
• Maintain agreed credit processing timelines while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor UAE and global sector trends, including regulatory and risk developments.
• Participate in internal discussions and training on sector risk and underwriting standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (mandatory).
• Professional qualification preferred (CA, CFA, CPA, CAIA).
• At least 6 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on credit analysis or risk roles, preferably in Transport & Logistics or Industrials & Manufacturing.
• Ability to operate within established credit frameworks while exercising independent judgment.
