About the role
SellAnyCar is looking for a self‑motivated Backend PHP Engineer to join its product‑led, agile team in Dubai. You will help design, develop, and optimise large‑scale web applications that power the future of automotive retail.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement new features.
- Write clean, DRY code and conduct code reviews, debugging and refactoring.
- Improve application performance through audits, caching, and architecture changes.
- Participate in sprint planning, requirement definition and regular showcases for stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership on project work and drive continuous improvement within the team.
Required profile
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing large, scalable web applications.
- Hands‑on experience with microservices architecture.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Required skills
- PHP (expert level) and/or Node.js.
- Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
- Version control using GIT.
- Basic Unix command‑line proficiency.
- Familiarity with Agile development tools like JIRA.
