Barge & Logistics Coordinator

About the role

The Barge / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring offshore marine and logistics activities to ensure the safe and efficient movement of personnel, materials, equipment and supplies between shore bases, barges, vessels and offshore facilities. The role plans barge movements, vessel schedules, material transfers and personnel movements in line with project plans, marine procedures, HSE requirements and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day offshore logistics involving accommodation/work barges, supply vessels, crew boats, tugs and other marine vessels.
• Plan and schedule barge and vessel mobilisation, demobilisation and offshore transportation activities.
• Arrange transportation of personnel, project materials, tools, consumables and equipment to and from offshore locations.
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly vessel and barge movement schedules with offshore construction and marine teams.
• Monitor personnel on board, crew changes, accommodation availability and offshore transfer requirements.
• Oversee loading/unloading, back‑loading, cargo documentation and movement of equipment between shore and offshore sites.
• Ensure offshore cargo is properly documented, packed, certified and labelled for marine transport.
• Identify potential logistics conflicts or delays and coordinate with HSE teams to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications or a related field, or a Maritime Academy qualification.
• Minimum ten (10+) years of relevant offshore oil & gas logistics experience (eight years for UAE nationals).
• At least five (5) years in a similar role on major oil & gas or marine construction projects, with three (3) years preferred in the GCC region.
• Extensive experience with offshore construction contractors/operators and strong knowledge of supply chain management and marine transportation.
• Responsibility for managing large inventory work scopes and coordinating material priorities across construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance phases.
