Barista – Hotel Café (Dubai Science Park)

About the role

Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park is seeking a service‑oriented Food & Beverage Barista to join its extraordinary team. You will work in a vibrant hotel environment, delivering high‑quality coffee experiences to guests, residents and local professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of handcrafted coffee beverages, specialty teas and seasonal drinks following IHG brand standards.
• Welcome guests warmly, take orders accurately, recommend menu items and respond promptly to guest needs.
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety and hygiene, ensuring workstations are organized, sanitized and compliant with Dubai Municipality and IHG requirements.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain coffee equipment, coordinating with maintenance to resolve any issues quickly.
• Manage inventory and stock control, monitor product levels, apply FIFO, minimise waste and handle café merchandising.
• Process POS transactions accurately and contribute to cost efficiency and operational excellence.
• Gather guest feedback, build positive relationships with hotel guests, long‑stay residents and local professionals.
• Report hazards, accidents, maintenance concerns and equipment defects to ensure a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years barista experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, high‑volume café or specialty coffee outlet in Dubai/UAE.
• High school diploma or equivalent; barista certification (e.g., SCA) or hospitality diploma preferred.
• Valid Basic Food Hygiene Certification compliant with Dubai Municipality rules (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic or additional languages are an advantage.
• Flexible to work shifts including early mornings, weekends and public holidays.
