Barista

About the role

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a five-star beachfront luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, is hiring a Barista. The role keeps the coffee station and outlet clean, efficient and hygienic while welcoming guests warmly and serving them with professional, personalized service.

Key responsibilities

• Take accurate beverage orders and prepare espresso, cappuccino, latte, Americano, mocha and other specialty drinks to recipe standards, including correct grinding, extraction, milk steaming, temperature and presentation.
• Serve hot and cold drinks such as teas, juices and smoothies, and recommend beverages based on guest preferences.
• Set up and maintain the coffee station and keep equipment, glassware and crockery clean and in good order.
• Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups and tea, report shortages and wastage, and follow FIFO procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and keep work areas sanitized.
• Follow food safety, HACCP, sanitation and health regulations, and handle guest feedback and complaints professionally.
• Maintain a positive attitude, a polished appearance and attention to detail, and be aware of VIP guests and special requests.

Required profile

• Previous barista experience in a luxury hotel, 5-star hotel, premium cafe, restaurant or high-end hospitality setting is preferred.
• Professional barista training or certification is an advantage.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Espresso preparation, coffee beans and brewing methods.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
