Bartender – Five-Star Hotel Bar

About the role

A luxury five-star hotel in Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai, is hiring a Bartender for its F&B outlets. The role covers cocktail making, wine and spirits service, bar inventory and hygiene standards, combining technical mixology expertise with warm, engaging guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests and present beverage menus with knowledge of ingredients, flavors and pairings.
• Craft and serve cocktails, wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks to standardized recipes and brand presentation.
• Upsell premium spirits, signature drinks and food items to raise average check value.
• Handle guest inquiries, feedback and special requests, escalating complex issues to management.
• Prepare pre-shift mise-en-place (garnishes, syrups, ice, glassware) and manage opening, mid-shift and closing procedures.
• Process guest checks and digital payments through the POS system.
• Run daily stock takes, monitor spillage and wastage logs, and help requisition supplies.
• Follow HACCP and hotel hygiene standards, enforce responsible alcohol service and verify guest age.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar, back-bar displays, glassware and tools, and meet target guest review scores.
• Keep POS variances zero, audit discrepancies low and stay within approved wastage targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of proven bartending experience in a 5-star hotel, cocktail lounge or fine-dining restaurant.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours and carry bar trays and beverage crates.
• Fluency in spoken and written English; other international languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong mixology knowledge, classic cocktail mastery and spirits appreciation.
• POS operating systems.
• Good communication, active listening and composure under high-volume pressure.
