Biomedical Design Engineer – BIM Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Biomedical Design Engineer with a strong focus on Building Information Modeling (BIM) to design and coordinate medical facilities and equipment layouts. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, engineers and clinical staff to ensure safe, functional and regulatory‑compliant healthcare environments.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage detailed 3D BIM models of healthcare facilities, medical devices and equipment using Autodesk Revit and related tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient space plans, workflows and equipment placement.
• Ensure all designs comply with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Department of Health (DOH) standards and other relevant codes.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including plans, sections, elevations and 3D visualisations.
• Conduct technical analyses and feasibility studies to optimise space utilisation and patient safety.
• Perform quality checks and audits on BIM models to maintain accuracy across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in biomedical design engineering for healthcare facilities or medical equipment planning.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations (DHA/DOH) and their application in design.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with Navisworks or other BIM coordination tools.
• 3D modelling and visualisation within a BIM environment.
