Branch Accountant – Automotive Finance

About the role

The Branch Accountant supports day‑to‑day finance operations at an automotive dealership, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with policies, and timely month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily branch transactions such as invoices, receipts, customer collections and vendor payments.
• Support vehicle deals by verifying pricing, discounts and required approvals.
• Monitor cash collections, bank deposits and petty‑cash balances, ensuring proper reconciliation.
• Prepare reconciliations for customer accounts, vendor balances and petty cash.
• Assist with month‑end close activities, including accruals, provisions and journal entries.
• Track operating expenses, purchase orders and supplier invoices to detect overspending or miscoding.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, delegation of authority, internal controls and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in accounting, branch finance or high‑volume transactional finance.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
