Business Development Executive – Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

We are looking for a high‑performing Business Development Executive to drive the acquisition of new merchants for Shukria’s (Mercury) payment solutions across the UAE. The role involves generating leads, onboarding merchants to our POS ecosystem, and cross‑selling a portfolio of value‑added services.

Key responsibilities

• Present Shukria’s end‑to‑end POS acceptance solutions to merchants in retail, restaurants, hospitality/F&B and other sectors.
• Cross‑sell value‑added services such as POS hardware, software, loyalty programs and additional Shukria offerings.
• Consistently achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Identify, prospect and convert new merchants by recommending suitable business solutions.
• Manage contract signing, documentation and submission processes accurately and on time.
• Conduct product and service training for merchants on subscribed value‑added services.
• Negotiate MDR/commission rates, POS rentals and pricing for value‑added services.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years (BDO) or 3‑5 years (Senior BDO) sales experience in payments or banking.
• Established network of contacts within the retail sector.
• Strong relationship‑building, communication and negotiation skills.
• Highly detail‑oriented, organized, analytical and computer literate.
• Self‑driven, target‑oriented, resilient and persistent.
• Valid UAE driving licence and own vehicle.

Required skills

• Knowledge of POS hardware and software solutions.
• Familiarity with merchant acquiring and payment processing concepts.
