Business Development Manager

About the role

Fly Aviation is looking for a diligent and experienced Business Development Manager to drive and develop the overall business. The manager will handle strategic marketing, achieve sales targets and act as the first point of contact for current and potential clients. The role reports directly to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business leads and build relationships with prospective clients
• Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives and coordinate with other teams to optimise sales
• Create awareness of company products and services and present them to potential clients, including in new territories
• Prepare regular reviews and reports on sales and financial data
• Train personnel and support team members in developing their skills
• Implement customer service procedures to ensure customer satisfaction
• Achieve monthly sales targets set by the company
• Manage the full sales cycle, including responding to RFPs and tenders and managing the sales pipeline
• Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure retention
• Research organisations and individuals to identify new opportunities, and work with the Commercial and Sales teams to generate leads across sectors
• Maintain and update the company database

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university (preferably in Aviation)
• At least 2 years of sales experience, preferably in Aviation, Travel, Air Freight or Cargo (mandatory)
• Fluent English; ability to communicate in several languages is preferred
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Strong leadership skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Immediate joiners preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of CRM software is an added advantage
• Professional competence in Microsoft Office
