Business & Economics Teacher (Secondary) – Start by Jan 2027

About the role

GEMS Education is seeking an outstanding Business & Economics Teacher for its international school in the UAE. The position can start immediately or by January 2027 at the latest, offering the chance to work with a diverse student community in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging Business & Economics lessons across the secondary phase.
• Develop students’ understanding through practical investigation, enquiry and real‑world application.
• Differentiate instruction and use assessment data to meet individual learning needs.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, behaviour and engagement, fostering an inclusive classroom.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and contribute to the wider school community.

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, State Teaching Licence or equivalent).
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a closely related subject meeting UAE teacher approval requirements.
• Proven experience teaching Business & Economics at secondary/high‑school level.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver practical, enquiry‑based lessons.
• Experience with international curricula, preferably IB MYP or DP.
• Solid understanding of assessment, differentiation and strategies to support varied abilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and classroom‑management skills.
• Passion for inspiring students in Business & Economics.
• Experience in a diverse, international school setting is advantageous; prior UAE experience is a plus.
