Carpentry Foreman

About the role

Target Engineering, an EPC and industrial infrastructure contractor with 50+ years of experience, is hiring a Foreman - Carpentry. The role supervises all carpentry and formwork activities on civil and oil & gas construction works, leading carpenters, helpers and formwork teams to deliver structural and architectural works according to approved drawings, specifications and QHSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise formwork construction for foundations, columns, walls, beams, slabs, manholes, culverts and marine structures, using timber, plywood, steel forms and modular systems such as DOKA, PERI and MIVAN.
• Oversee carpentry works such as door frames, wooden doors, cabinetry, partitions and skirting, and coordinate with rebar and concrete teams.
• Supervise carpenters, helpers, formwork crews and subcontractors, allocate daily work, monitor attendance and productivity, and run toolbox talks and shift handovers.
• Manage carpentry materials and tools, minimise waste and coordinate material requisitions.
• Check work against drawings and specifications, raise inspection requests and ensure formwork is clean, sealed and properly installed.
• Enforce HSE procedures, PPE use and hazard mitigation, and take part in incident investigations.
• Coordinate with civil, rebar, concrete, MEP and scaffolding teams, and support engineers during client and consultant inspections.
• Maintain daily manpower, productivity and progress reports, track material consumption and record as-built changes.

Required profile

• 8-10 years of experience in carpentry and formwork on civil, industrial or oil & gas projects, supervising crews on large-scale projects.
• Experience in high-rise buildings, infrastructure, marine works or oil & gas facilities is preferred.
• Diploma in a relevant field; additional carpentry or construction trade training is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of conventional and modular formwork systems (DOKA, PERI, MIVAN).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches and technical specifications.
• Leadership, planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of construction quality standards, inspection processes and HSE regulations.
