Chief Concierge (6-Month Mission)

About the role

Sofitel Dubai The Palm, a 5-star beachfront resort on the Palm Jumeirah, is looking for a Chief Concierge for a 6-month mission. The role oversees and directs all aspects of Concierge and Bell service operations, delivering the highest quality of service to guests while following all legal rules, regulations and hotel guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct Concierge, Bell Desk activities and Bell Staff, as well as Doormen, Valet Parking and airport transportation requests.
• Sort and distribute guests' and administrative mail.
• Provide guests with information on hotel services, local points of interest, restaurants, doctors and sightseeing tours, and recommend the hotel's own F&B outlets first.
• Keep the lobby orderly and ashtrays clean, coordinate paging of guests in the lobby and F&B outlets, and maintain an up-to-date hotel information directory.
• Prepare efficient work and vacation schedules for Concierge, Doorman and Bell Services based on occupancy forecasts and large group movements.
• Ensure staff are neat, clean and punctual, handle guest problems and liaise with department heads or executive management when the Director of Rooms is absent.
• Work with the Director of Rooms on the department budget and monitor costs against it.

Required profile

• Degree from a School for Tourism and Hotel Management.
• Clefs D'Or member.
• At least five years' experience as a Concierge or in a related position.

• Good verbal English.
• Leadership, teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, with constant interruptions and with difficult guests.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate and direct staff performance.
