Chief Engineer

About the role

Rixos Premium Dubai JBR, a luxury hotel offering Turkish hospitality, is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to lead its engineering operations. The role drives technical excellence, strategic innovation and operational efficiency across all engineering functions, oversees a team, sets engineering standards and ensures the highest levels of safety, compliance and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for engineering operations, maintenance and technical initiatives, and develop engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with safety protocols, building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Direct maintenance, repairs and optimization of building systems, infrastructure, interiors, exteriors and guest-facing areas.
• Run and optimize the preventive maintenance program to extend asset life and reduce downtime.
• Manage departmental budgets, control expenses and contribute to financial planning and annual budget forecasts.
• Develop and deliver training programs, hold regular departmental meetings and mentor engineering staff.
• Ensure adherence to fire, life safety, emergency procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Manage inventory, assets, security protocols and equipment, analyze performance metrics and make decisions on capital investments and system upgrades.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering, or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in engineering operations, maintenance management or similar senior technical roles.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing large-scale technical operations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience overseeing capital projects and technical implementations, and project management experience.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, building codes and regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in building systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing or related disciplines.
• Preferred: maintenance management software, technical documentation systems, certification in engineering or safety management.
