Chief System Engineer

About the role

ADVANCED CONCEPTS, a division of EDGE, focuses on designing and deploying cutting‑edge autonomous technologies. The team is accelerating development of high‑technology unmanned aerial systems, precision loitering munitions, cruise missiles and guided artillery munitions.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall technical authority for product systems throughout their life‑cycle, including mission analysis, requirements, architecture, verification and validation.
• Lead creation and modification of detailed aircraft and missile designs using advanced CAD tools, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct aerodynamic and flight‑mechanics analyses with CFD and other simulation tools to guide design decisions.
• Direct hands‑on prototyping using 3D printing, CNC machining and custom PCB design to evolve concepts into functional systems.
• Design and implement defense hardware/software integration, employing PX4 and MAVLink for robust communication.
• Develop high‑performance C++ applications and Qt/QML interfaces for ground‑control stations, and build modular robotic solutions with ROS and sensor integration.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• At least 18 years of relevant experience, primarily in defense‑industry systems engineering.
• Proven expertise in missile design (flight mechanics, stability, weight‑balance, structural design).
• Strong proficiency with CAD, FEA and CFD tools.
• Experience in system testing, validation and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
