Chief Technician - Weapon Integration Mechatronics

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Chief Technician for its Halcon Mechatronics department in Abu Dhabi. The role leads the integration, assembly and testing of precision-guided weapons and missile systems, supports ground testing, flight testing and launch platform integration, and acts as the technical bridge between engineering design and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform integration, assembly, acceptance testing and evaluation of guided weapons and missile systems.
• Manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs), harness development and integration data packs.
• Develop and maintain tools, jigs, fixtures, assembly instructions and testing procedures.
• Train and mentor technicians while ensuring compliance with engineering processes and workflows.
• Ensure products meet performance, quality and acceptance requirements in a defence environment.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6-10 years of experience in guided weapons, missile systems or defense integration programs.
• Experience with manufacturing, testing, integration and acceptance of complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Preferred: experience in defense, aerospace, military or missile development environments.
• English proficiency required; unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies are not accepted.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of systems engineering, baseline management and engineering documentation.
• Preferred: knowledge of guidance and control systems, weapon telemetry and launch platform integration.
