Civil Design Engineer – Substation & Power Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our Dubai HQ Design Hub, delivering civil designs for high‑voltage (HV/EHV) substations and related power infrastructure across the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil designs for HV/EHV substations, including site development, grading, roads, paving, drainage, storm‑water systems, underground utilities and general layouts.
• Design foundations and civil works for transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, control and switchgear buildings, gantries, cable trenches, boundary walls and other substation facilities.
• Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, detailed drawings and BOQ/MTO documents.
• Coordinate with primary and secondary electrical, structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Review vendor and subcontractor drawings, provide technical support, resolve design queries and support as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of civil engineering/design experience, with hands‑on HV/EHV substation design.
• Strong knowledge of substation layouts, equipment foundations, roads, drainage, cable trenches and underground utilities.
• Understanding of civil interfaces with GIS/AIS equipment, transformers and control buildings.
• Experience working in the UAE/GCC region and familiarity with local utility requirements is preferred.
