Civil Engineer – Design, Site Supervision & QA

About the role

Gadiyar Engineering Consultant is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to lead design, review and on‑site supervision of civil and structural works for projects in Dubai. The role combines technical design responsibilities with quality control, contractor coordination and client liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil and structural designs, prepare calculations, specifications and engineering reports in line with UAE codes and client requirements.
• Review architectural, structural, MEP and civil coordination drawings; assess contractor and subcontractor submissions, material submittals and method statements.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, dimensions, levels, alignment and material quality against approved drawings.
• Perform quality control checks on concrete, reinforcement, blockwork, waterproofing, plastering and finishes; raise NCRs and follow up corrective actions.
• Coordinate with main contractors and subcontractors, monitor progress, respond to RFIs and attend coordination meetings.
• Track project schedule, identify delays or risks and support the project manager in maintaining cost, quality and timeline objectives.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations and maintain all inspection, as‑built and handover documentation.
• Monitor health and safety compliance on site and report major concerns to the HSE team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience in design review, site supervision and quality control on large‑scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes and authority approval processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with good communication skills for client and contractor interaction.
