Civil Inspector

About the role

The Civil Inspector will support the Resident Engineer by performing civil and structural inspections on construction sites across the United Arab Emirates. This role ensures that all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out civil and structural inspections of excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concrete works, blockwork, plaster, screed, waterproofing, and related activities.
• Review Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and confirm readiness for inspection before acceptance or comment by the Supervision Consultant.
• Perform initial reviews of civil/structural shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents under the Resident Engineer's direction.
• Check delivered materials against approved Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), specifications, and approved samples, reporting any discrepancies.
• Monitor workmanship, alignment, level, tolerance, protection, curing, testing, and overall compliance with approved procedures.
• Coordinate with the contractor’s site team and testing laboratory for sampling, testing, and inspection records.
• Identify non‑conforming works, quality concerns, and unsafe practices, reporting them promptly to the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain daily site records, inspection notes, photographs, status updates, and follow up on close‑out of Supervision Consultant comments, NCRs, snags, and inspection observations.

Required profile

• At least 1 month of experience in civil or structural inspection.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements under supervision.
• Familiarity with inspection documentation such as WIRs, MIRs, and NCRs.
