Civil Inspector – Stormwater & Micro‑Tunneling

About the role

The Civil Inspector will supervise and inspect day‑to‑day stormwater drainage and micro‑tunneling works on site. You will ensure that all civil activities meet design specifications, local authority standards and quality procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor excavation, shoring, backfilling, micro‑tunneling drives, shaft construction, reinforcement, concrete pouring, waterproofing and finishing of stormwater structures.
• Verify alignment, gradients and levels of pipelines, chambers and manholes against design drawings.
• Ensure contractor compliance with Dubai Municipality, RTA and other relevant authority standards.
• Record daily manpower, equipment and material deliveries; supervise concrete curing, coating and lining works.
• Assist Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer with site instructions, contractor responses and close‑out actions.
• Coordinate issue resolution, prepare daily inspection reports and support surveying verification.
• Monitor testing, commissioning and hand‑over of stormwater networks; review RFIs, method statements and variance requests.
• Liaise with client representatives and authority inspectors, maintaining organized records of NCRs, test results and as‑built updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in supervising stormwater drainage, micro‑tunneling or similar civil infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, RTA and local quality control procedures.
• Ability to produce clear daily reports and maintain accurate inspection documentation.
