Civil & Mechanical Engineer – Solar PV

About the role

The Civil/Mechanical Engineer – Solar PV bridges structural engineering and mechanical layout for utility‑scale solar photovoltaic power plants. You will lead design review, optimisation and on‑site technical supervision of civil foundations, piling layouts and mechanical tracking systems to ensure safe, high‑performance infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce mechanical torque auditing programmes and verify that all structural fasteners are correctly marked and tightened.
• Generate daily and weekly construction progress reports, comparing site completion against the project schedule.
• Resolve structural‑to‑mechanical interface clashes, such as piling conflicts with underground MV cabling or drainage networks.
• Review subcontractor shop drawings, calculation sheets, material submittals and Bar Bending Schedules for concrete foundations.
• Coordinate with the electrical team to align tracker drive motors with power supplies and control arrays.
• Approve structural layouts for fixed‑tilt structures and single‑axis trackers (e.g., Nextracker, ATI, Arctech) and ensure strict mechanical tolerances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of planning and scheduling experience, with at least 2 years on utility‑scale solar PV projects.
