Civil Society Expert – Human Rights & Gender Equality

About the role

The assignment aims to strengthen the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership between the European Union and Egypt by delivering rapid, flexible, and high‑quality technical assistance. The role will support jointly agreed bilateral cooperation priorities, enhancing policy dialogue, programme implementation and institutional capacities of Egyptian partners involved in EU‑funded actions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on human rights, gender equality, social inclusion, civil society development and participatory policy dialogue.
• Conduct policy and institutional assessments, stakeholder consultations and analytical studies.
• Support civil society organisations and public institutions in implementing rights‑based approaches.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in human rights, law, political science, gender studies, development studies, social sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in human rights, gender equality, social inclusion or civil society development.
• Fluent in English (C1) and Arabic (C1); French is an asset.
• Experience in Egypt and/or the MENA region is highly desirable.
