Civil / Structural Inspector - Consultancy (6-Month Contract)

About the role

An award-winning consultancy client needs a well-experienced Civil Inspector for its team in Dubai, covering civil and structural inspection of enabling works and horizontal civil construction projects. The role is an initial 6-month contract, outsourced through J10 Consulting, and can start immediately. Only candidates who have previously worked as a Civil/Structural Inspector for a recognised consultancy or PMC business in the UAE will be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to inspection requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor and take timely action
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements and international best practice
• Report works that do not comply with approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders
• Monitor quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental issues, in line with contractual and QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments
• Maintain daily site records such as progress photos, available for inspection when needed
• Prepare surveillance reports on deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCR) as events develop
• Ensure coordination between discipline-related works and provide technical input to resolve on-site issues

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 8-10+ years of experience supervising major high-rise projects, including enabling works, piling, foundations and slabs
• Previous experience in a similar role within an engineering consultancy or supervision consultant
• Good written and oral communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with project personnel and management
