Civil Technician – Building & Structure Maintenance

About the role

The Civil Technician will provide engineering and maintenance services for the building structures of Dubai Metro stations, depots, ancillary buildings, sub‑stations, tunnels, car parks and related infrastructure. The role supports the Building & Structure Maintenance Team in ensuring safe, reliable and well‑maintained facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance, including stitching, grouting, scaffolding, pressure pointing, re‑casing and general structural repairs.
• Follow maintenance procedures and record work in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Support implementation of complex systems or new projects under the guidance of senior staff.
• Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition and perform shift or emergency duties as required.
• Carry out tasks as directed by the Building & Structure Maintenance Team Leader and senior maintenance staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in building and structure maintenance, including general structural repairs.
• Vocational trade certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Valid driving licence with good driving skills.

Required skills

• Use and calibrate electro‑mechanical tools and equipment for building maintenance.
• Structural stitching, grouting, scaffolding, pressure pointing and re‑casing.
• Knowledge of door ironmongery, internal/external claddings, waterproofing and concrete works.
• Prepare technical reports, method statements and simple drawings.
