Classroom Assistant - Noya British School (AY 26/27)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Classroom Assistant for Noya British School in Abu Dhabi for academic year 26/27. The role supports pupils inside and outside the classroom so they can take part in school activities and look after their social, emotional and physical well-being. It also includes academic assistance such as giving group and individual instruction and monitoring pupils' work.

Key responsibilities

• Support individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom, and be proactive on health and safety matters
• Assist in implementing individual education programmes and monitor pupils' progress
• Support pupils with additional support needs, such as emotional and behavioural difficulties, and help develop their social skills
• Help class teachers maintain pupil records, prepare and display pupils' work, and handle photocopying and other teaching support tasks
• Comply with health and safety requirements, legislation and school policies
• Academic assistance: give group and individual instruction as prescribed by the teacher, demonstrate activities, check and correct pupils' work, keep pupils on task, praise achievements and report progress to the teacher
• Reorganise materials at the end of the day, check attendance and supervise pupils in classrooms and other areas
• Take part in developing the behaviour policy, promote pupils' self-esteem and discipline misbehaviour in line with school policy

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school certificate
• At least two years of experience in a school setting
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
