Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor – Psychiatry

About the role

The College of Medicine at Ajman University is seeking a qualified professional to join its faculty as a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor in Psychiatry for the Spring 2025‑2026 semester. The role combines teaching, research, and service responsibilities within an integrated, systems‑based medical curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry courses, aligning with the university’s standards of teaching, research, and service.
• Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support academic success.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish findings in reputable journals and conferences, and contribute to the university’s research agenda.
• Participate in curriculum development, integrating psychiatry with basic and clinical medical sciences.
• Engage in accreditation activities and maintain professional relationships that foster a positive learning environment.
• Utilize e‑learning platforms and presentation tools to enhance instructional delivery.

Required profile

• Basic medical degree (MBBS or MD) and a Ph.D. or terminal clinical qualification in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
• Board‑certified in Psychiatry and eligible for UAE clinical licensure.
• Proven experience teaching in an integrated, systems‑based curriculum, preferably with involvement in Problem‑Based Learning (PBL) or Team‑Based Learning (TBL).
• Fluent English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, scholarly work, and high pedagogic standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with e‑learning systems and presentation software for delivering course content.
