Collection Officer - BNPL

About the role

The Collection Officer for BNPL is based in the United Arab Emirates and owns end-to-end debt recovery and risk management for Buy-Now-Pay-Later accounts. The role drives merchant and customer collections, runs risk assessments, manages KYC and regulatory compliance, and works with internal and external stakeholders to optimise recovery strategies and ensure settlement accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end debt recovery for BNPL merchant and customer accounts
• Assess risk on delinquent accounts and recommend tailored recovery strategies
• Liaise with merchant partners to resolve settlement and reconciliation discrepancies
• Carry out merchant onboarding due diligence and KYC checks in line with UAE regulations
• Maintain detailed records of collection activity and produce regular performance reports
• Work with finance, risk, compliance and operations teams to ensure policy adherence
• Monitor account performance metrics and credit risk trends to improve recovery outcomes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• 4-6 years of experience in banking operations, debt recovery or BNPL environments
• Strong technical expertise in merchant onboarding, settlement and reconciliation
• In-depth knowledge of KYC procedures and UAE regulatory compliance
• Hands-on experience with credit risk assessment and debt collection strategies
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
