Commercial Director – Facilities Management

About the role

A consultancy is supporting a confidential search for a senior Commercial Director to lead commercial, contract, procurement and supplier management activities across a large-scale facilities management operation. The role strengthens commercial governance, contract performance, cost control, procurement effectiveness and supplier accountability. Details about the client organisation will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall commercial and procurement strategy across facilities management operations.
• Oversee contract lifecycle management, including tendering, negotiations, renewals, SLAs, KPIs and performance reviews.
• Manage commercial risk, contractual obligations, budgets, forecasting and financial performance.
• Develop sourcing and procurement strategies to improve cost efficiency, service quality and supplier value.
• Establish supplier performance frameworks so contractors meet agreed commercial and operational standards.
• Advise operational teams on contract interpretation, claims, variations and performance issues.
• Lead and develop commercial, contracts and procurement teams and manage key client and stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial, contracts, procurement or related leadership roles.
• Strong experience managing large-scale facilities management contracts or multi-service operational portfolios.
• Proven expertise in contract management, procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
• Experience in complex environments such as large infrastructure, major developments, mixed-use assets or high-footfall facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Contract Management, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
