About the role
The Commis 1 supports the kitchen and service teams at JW Marriott Dubai by preparing meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting with daily operations. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures guests receive consistent, high‑standard hospitality.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, cold foods, and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures; pull and thaw frozen items as needed.
- Maintain food logs, monitor portioning, garnish, and overall food quality.
- Communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items, and excess food usage to chefs and service staff.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching of team members as required.
- Follow safety, security, and uniform policies; report maintenance issues and incidents.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
- At least 3 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
