Commis 2 – Fish Beach Taverna

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the kitchen team at Fish Beach Taverna by preparing ingredients, cooking under supervision, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is essential for delivering consistent quality and presentation in a fast‑paced restaurant setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cook and assemble dishes, monitor cooking progress, and ensure proper temperature control.
• Maintain cleanliness of work stations, tools, knives, equipment and kitchen areas, following hygiene protocols.
• Set up and break down stations, serve food in correct portions, and adhere to safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation, portioning and basic cooking techniques.
