Commis 3 - Culinary Team

About the role

Fairmont Dubai, a luxury hotel in the business heart of the city, is hiring a Commis 3 for its Culinary team. The role reports to the Executive Sous Chef and focuses on safe, efficient kitchen operations and high-quality food preparation that meets guest expectations. Candidates are asked to complete a questionnaire with their partner AssessFirst shortly after applying.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily shift briefings, lead by example and share ideas with colleagues
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate and maintain proper hygiene as per Dubai Municipality
• Complete grooming, spot check and temperature control sheets, and keep chillers clean with products rotated properly
• Minimise wastage and spoilage, and check mise en place daily for freshness and quality
• Communicate daily with supervisors and act as an extension of the kitchen managers to keep food consistent and of high quality
• Assign and follow up tasks according to business volume and supervisor instructions, and attend managerial courses when offered
• Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the department head

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis 3 preferred
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities; highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well as part of a team and to focus on guest needs while staying calm and courteous
• Physical demands: frequent standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling, occasional lifting up to 20 lbs, and climbing ladders, stairs and ramps
